I plan on buying a PS2 (second hand)

I've been looking on the net for the best option for playability.
So far I know NTSC is recommended.
But since i live in Europe, the standard is PAL.

My main question is: Will i be able to get full NTSC gameplay with a PAL PS2?

    - A modded PAL PS2 will play NTSC games, but does it output NTSC format or PAL?
    - Will I have the same result to a modded PAL PS2 with a PAL PS2 with HDLoader and NTSC games on the HDD?

Any other points of interest or issues?

Importing a NTSC PS2 will be to much of a hassle for me I guess, because of shipping, import taxes and outlet/electricity differences. :(

I'd go for the NTSC ps2 personally, games are generally cheaper to import than they are to purchase here and some of the best games never make to our shores, also some PAL conversion are bloody awful

Actually the PAL machine converts the NTSC signal to 60 hz Pal.
