Check out the Tosh MT8/InFocus 7200. Amazing picture for a lot less money.

Thank you very much for your answers.
It seems like I will have to take a look at Sharp.

    Hi Jolaca,

I am using the Marantz S2 now for 4 months and have to say it beat the SHARP hands down when I compared them side by side. It has very little motion artefacts, a very smooth film like picture, excellent build quality, sealed optics and a shorter throw ratio than most other DLPs in that range (this will give you a much bigger picture in a smaller room).

Go and check them out for yourself side by side, I think that's the only way to see what you can live with.

    Cheers
    Tom

i would say the yamaha DPX1000 . i read a review in homecinemachoice and saw it and it simply blew all other DLP's out of the water according to that review . its also the only PJ. in the list to use 10bit color (1024 color gradients) instead of 8bit (256 gradients) .

if u got the $ its a blind buy ,check that baby out .

I just saw the Yamaha in action and was thoroughly impressed.
It was on a 120 inch screen. The picture was stunning and the black levels were very good. I had compared it to a Sim2 300+.
Yamaha seems better made and slightly cheaper. The Sim had a lot of light spill which was a bit of a surprise.
I don't think you'll be disappointed with it.
I am looking for a replacement for my nine year old Vidikron HD40 CRT. Yamaha is very high on he list.
