During shielding, I have packed on a bit of extra weight, so I have decided to look into investing in a new bike for getting back into shape. As lockdown potentially eases, I'm planning on doing some early morning runs before the traffic builds up.
I used to like bike riding many moons ago, but as I got into my late teens, I lost interest in it to other things.
I've budgeted myself up to about £500ish (give or take a little) to invest in a decent bike. Where I live, there are quite a few hilly roads, as well as quite a few off-road trails through back fields and farm lanes, so I'm looking at buying a bike that can hold up to some off-road abuse should I choose to dabble.
Being a short arse (about 5'4/5'5), it seems to me like most mountain bikes are tailored to the taller cyclist, so I'm looking for something that'll accommodate my height.
Also, I'd appreciate any suggestions on reputable places to buy.
If there's any questions I've not thought to ask, let me know and I'll try to provide more.
Thanks in advance.
