I'm looking for a very thin LED TV for my kitchen wall. It seems Samsung make some good thin sets but trying to understand their web-site is a nightmare. They seem to have made some with a depth of 29m but no longer current model. I'm looking for 39" so any suggestions for something that thin? Thanks...

I was looking at the 37” D5520 Series 5 SMART Full HD LED TV which the tech spec says is 29.9mm depth but no longer available. Seems odd that newer sets are deeper? Which is why I thought perhaps I wasn't interpreting their web site properly

Oh those are pretty old now, almost on the G series, been through E and F since. My out might find a second hand one?

I think they are fatter, maybe to house all the extra gubbins for smart etc, or better speakers, or because there is a move towards full array backlit rather than edge lit which caused clouding? Investment into extra features rather than optimising size. Maybe most people aren't so bothered about and extra centimetre or two especially if using table top stand

Best to go to currys and see which are the thinnest in budget

Very few 39s, so look at 40 and 42 as well

Thanks, it's to wall mount above a bench seat in my kitchen so not bothered about smart features more that it's ultra thin so people don't bang their heads on it when sitting in the seat. ;) Any other very thin "dumb" tvs?
