    Hiya,

Just wondering if someone can recommend a good portable recording device. I work as a DJ and the purpose is to record my mixes when playing out. I need to be able to record directly onto the device and I'd like a recording time of 4 hours.

So far I'm tempted by the Sony MX-NH1 minidisc player. Will this do the job? How about recordable MP3 players? They seem a little bit scarce but I've noticed that Archos seem to have a few which seem to do what I want.

    Anyone got any other suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    Andrew

    Hiya,

    Thanks for the reply.

I should have stated that I really have no great use for transferring files from my PC and playback. Just recording my sets live will do fine. The main purpose is for me to listen back to what I'm doing and see where I'm making mistakes. It's pretty tough to hear anything in the DJ booth other than beats. I'd most likely transfer the file back to my PC and listen to it from there.

I've managed to pick up a new one up from E-Bay for an all inclusive price of £151. Does this sound ok?

What I meant by uploading is the transfer back from the unit to the PC. The uploading isn't difficult, but it is slow. Still, it makes good recordings.
