    Hope you can help...

I am looking for a new AV stand for my new TV and AV system. The requirements are basically

    Holds a 50" TV
    Sky HD
    PS3
    AV Receiver
    Centre speaker
Inbuilt cable tidy would be great

Thinking black and I am open to glass or other materials. It is going in our new fancy open plan flat and basically has to pass the GF looks test, thinking pretty modern.

Might be easier if anyone can suggest brands or shops that could help. Thanks in advance

    Iain

    iainkane,
I was in the same position as you,I payed a lot for my 50inch TV and didn't want a crap stand letting it down.
The Meliconi Flat Vision Star 200 Black is not cheap £309,but I have no regrets.

    Not easy

I just changed one of these

    http://www.standland.co.uk/zingt5bk.htm

    for this

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131764

whilst they look the same they are not, the alphason is rated to 100kgs (much thicker glass, nb it weights 40kgs) is much higher quality in the flesh but more importantly has taller shelves which allows good air flow around an amp and also takes a 185mm centre speaker (which alot seam to be), i had trouble finding traditional style centre's that would fit the cheaper version

better pics here (note centre on clear one)

I have a stand for sale in the trading area that sounds like it would meet all your needs.

    Ho PoisonJam

Thats the one I had seen on one of the threads, would you recommend it?

It looks the piece and is exactly what I am looking for. I've got my TV yet, so if they ain't back till end of Feb thats probably the perfect time for me, its open at the side to give my PS3 space to "breathe".

    Cheers
    Iain

I really like that full size one, been trying to find one like that with the two shelves, I can't seem to find one other than the Dwell single shelf...

Can anyone find one like the above in the Uk?

In the interests of balance - The alphason glass is not 'much thicker' they both use a 10mm top shelf. The weight of the GT5 is also 40Kg! I can not see a quality difference , I have dealt with both products. To be fair I think the plastic cable management on the GT5 is a bit tacky, but equally so do I think the tube cable tidy on the Alphason is. Take your point on them having different shelf spacings, horses for courses I guess.

See this stand - I have bought this and has plenty of room for amps, centres and 60" plus plasmas. No cable tidy though. Will post a picture when set up.
