Hi guys,

Not sure where to put this post so i'll start here, sorry if i was wrong.

Here goes.
What i am looking to do is, Store music and videos on some sort of media centre. Be able to access this for watching through my TV in Living room and maybe bedroom.
Able to play music as my/through my stereo but i want to be able to have it play all round my house, i,e each room. But able also to select which room or floor the music is played as well as all rooms. Would like to keep cables to a minimum.
Able to access all this with my PC for transferring files etc.

I'm bit of a noob so any suggestions greatly appreciated.
And any tips where to pick the gear up would be great too.

thanks for now.

You could go with a Mac mini running iTunes, Apple TV in living room and Apple Airport Express players but Airport Express can't do full multi-zone, every one plays the same music.

Otherwise go for a decent NAS for storage (QNAP, Thecus, ReadyNAS) and choose one of the media players for the TV (i.e. HiMedia 600A) and then use Sonos players for music (S5 boombox, ZP90 for connecting to hi-fi, ZP120 has own amp, just needs speakers). Sonos players use their own wireless network and can do multi-room/zone in any combination.
