I'm looking for recommendations for a motherboard that can do the following:
Provide dolby digital and (hopefully) DTS 5.1 out on a digital connection.
Has onboard graphics that can be used to do VGA-RGB.
I've no preference on chip maker.
Currently I have a Silverstone LC20, silent powersupply etc. I use a Radeon 9200 to achieve a VGA to RGB connection but am hampered by an ancient mobo and hot old athlon xp.
Its for running Media Centre/Media Portal and Slimserver in the lounge so silence and coolness are key properties.
I want to buy a new motherboard, one of the cool, dual core processors and matching ram. I don't play games and don't want to spend a fortune. Is there a board whose onboard graphics can be used with powerstrip?
Am I dreaming when I say I want DD and DTS from a motherboard? If so what sound card do I need? I recently bought a Trust board only to discover it only outputs DD 5.1 from the analogue and the digital outputs are stereo. Useless!
