Parents are looking for a way to convert their vhs tapes onto dvd. I felt that a player with an HDD might be the way to go as they could edit out adverts etc. However, the only unit I've come accross is Panasonics DMR-95 with a price tag near £500 online. Any suggestions or reconmendations?

Yes the Panasonic 95 is very very pricey and the only advantage that has over the DMR-EZ45V is the 250GB HDD.

The EZ45V can be obtained for around £210. Check out the links at the top of this Threads page. Of course, with no HDD the commercials will also be retained. Editing them out is a pain in the neck anyway if you have a large number of VHS tapes to transfer.
