hello i am just about to make the change from standard telly to hd lcd as i want to get a xbox 360 with the hd dvd drive attachment.

in total i have about £1,000 to spend however £400 is aside for the 360. i am looking for a tv, from pref a reputable company like samsung, i do like the tv they use for the xbox demo pods.

a hdmi slot would be nice.

a pc slot is essential as i need a new pc monitor, but if i could combine a new telly to use as a pc monitor i kill 2 birds with one stone. (i can use vga or dvi connection from my pc.)

32WLT66 can be had for £599 now, 2 HMDI ports and you can connect it to your PC via VGA or a DVI->HDMI cable. I'm unsure if it has 1:1 pixelmapping, seems to be a debate if it does so or not. I'm tempted by this LCD in the 26" form.

Price and place of purchase? I'm mulling over a 26 incher now, can't really justify a 32" :suicide:

Edit: Just saw another post by you with the details, nevermind ;)

I bought from Sony Centre at £699 with 5 year guarantee

You can get it pricematched at £599 from JL with a 5 year guarantee

Paid the excess because JL has no stock and I became a little impatient

Also being paranoid, I got Sony Centre to sign a pre-typed letter to say they would replace the set if I took it home and there was a dead pixel.

Other places said they would do the same but became very defensive when I asked them to sign my contract

My advice is buy the right size based on viewing distance
