hi all

i,m looking to get a plasma 40 or 42", i read and was recommended to look at Panasonic TX-P42V10 but i cant seem to find them anywhere now.

it will mostly be used for SD / Satellite TV, no gaming or maybe potential Blueray player in the future.

anyway what do you guys think of this and if anyone else got any other recommendation please feel free?

i was told if i get the panny look into the free 5yrs as well from them.

Thanks

You would be best to wait for the new models coming out around March, the V10 are hard to get hold of and the new models will have a larger range and should be very very good.

hi

thanks a lot for that, not really desperate for one now as i can def wait, i tried finding some info on the new models but is not really much out there.

from the reviews i have seen the V10 seems to be a winnner and spoke someone from soundandvision and told me they are been phased out and maybe i should consider the g15 as they are identical apart from the thx etx which is designed for hidef rather standard signal which would the tv would mostly be used for.

The THX mode is worth it, especially when watching DVD or blu-ray as you know the picture is set up right, as long as the room isn't too bright. there is a lot of info on the panny website for all the new models, the new LED LCD's might even be worth considering but I reckon the plasma is still the way to go if your like your films.

The S2 models have the widest sizes from 42-58" and are 1080p with 600hz and 2,000,000:1 native and should be a reasonable price.
The G20 is the next up with 5,000,000:1 native and THX, this looks the closest to the V10 and should be awesome.
Then you have the G25 and the VT25 is the top spec.

i will def keep an eye on the g20+ models, 2-3 months of waiting, lets see what the reviews say and if they have improved compare to the last line up.

The USA G20 has THX mode as did the G10 in the US last year.
Japanese G20 doesnt have THX mode, nor did their G10 last year.
The UK G10 didnt have THX mode last year and probably wont have it either in the G20.
We'll know for certain mid-Feb.
