I've been reading the forums here for a few weeks now since i started thinking about buying a new TV and finally decided to post. I'm looking for a 23" - 26" LCD TV for my bedroom and having difficulty choosing one. I would like to get one of the 26" Sharp LCD's but they're a bit too pricey for me at the moment, i'm looking for one with a fast response (<16ms) and a DVI connector for a PC. Mainly going to be using it for watching DVD's via the PC and watching TV via Cable TV box. At the moment im considering the following:

    Acer AL2671W

    Philips 26PF9946

Hitachi 26LD6200 (looks good but cant find any info on it)

Not looking to spend more than £800. Im not in a rush to get one so i may even wait till the Sharp LC26GA3E or LC26GA4E come down in price a bit.

Anyone offer any advice on what I should do? :)

If you are considering a low cost LCD like the Acer, then you should also include the Sonix from Sainsburys as that is just £499. See the thread in this forum for lots of positive feedback

    There's also a Medion at Toys-R-Us, I gather.

As for the Sonix - take a look at the extensive thread on it. A quick summary - it's pretty well all good news.

There is a thread on the Medion, too.

If the 26" upper limit is just to keep the cost down, you may be interested to know that the 28" version of the Hitachi is at Richer Sounds for £800 "this week". Again, there's a thread running.

The 26" limit is due to the size of my room, anything more would be a bit too big I think. I'm gonna go have a look at the Sonix in Sainsburys some time soon to see what its like.

What's an extra two inches? that Hitachi at RS is a bargain. I think the speakers are detachable.. So you could use satellites and the screen would'nt look overkill

This product is DVI compatible but only with a PC.

The link from Hitachi for this product is below.

I would suggest that tha ACER is the better option

I had the Acer for a couple of days, not impressed at all, altho the thread onhere would tell me different, thats why I initially bought it, but it was no good in any dept i found. For me it was "u pay less, for less"
