Looking for 17" LCD - help appreciated

Hi there folks, first time poster

I'm looking for a 17" LCD TV for my small games room. I won't be more than 1m away from the set and room is limited so 17" is my ideal size. The set will be used primarily for gaming, current-gen consoles and PC and then Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 when they arrive, so I would really like an 'HD-Ready' 17" w/s LCD TV.

I have found 2 candidiates so far:

Philips 17PF4310/01

This looked just the job until I found out this model can only accept digital HD (720p) pictures, not analogue ones (it has a DVI-D but not DVI-I connector and no component connectors). This then rules out this model as I won't be able to play Xbox 360 games @ 720p on it, as the Xbox 360 - it appears - will only output a 720p signal via component and not DVI or HDMI.

Samsung 730MW

It appears this set supports HDCP via DVI, but I'm not 100% certain on this. And it's a few months old now...

Any suggested alternatives would be gratefully appreciated!

Thanks,
TB

The 17PF4310 is not HD-ready as the DVI-D input does not support HDCP nor does it come with component inputs. The 730MW should be as it has both but it has a TN+Film panel and hence quite narrow viewing angles. It is actually about a year old now.

There is the Philips 17PF9220 which is HD-ready and accept component over the DVI-I input; the panel appears to be similar to the 17PF4310. This one's available at John Lewis.

If you go up one size larger, the Philips 20PF5320 and Toshiba 20WL56 both support HD resolutions over the component input. The 20PF5320 also as DVI with HDCP, try Comet to have a look at this.
