Hello,

I would like to know your best setting for a Sagem HDD50 G4 T.
Because i did'nt find the best configuration :

Sharpness, coleur, contrast, clearness, rightness etc...

Thanks for your help .

For brightness/black level, display an all black screen, look at the screen from a distance of about 6 inches and adjust the brightness control on the remote until you can't see any of the mirrors moving (these pixels are all tiny mirrors, they will look like greenish grey/dots when moving on a black screen). Once they disappear, black is as black as it can be and brightness level will be correct.

Out of the box, the set is pretty much spot-on for viewing other than contrast and brightness (and even then they are very close, close enough that I suspect the sets are actually being calibrated at the factory). Contrast can be adjusted using one of the test patterns mentioned here http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196873.

Here's a link to more interesting information on setting brightness and contrast on a DLP http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=6385482&&#post6385482

Its worth investing in the DVD mentioned to get the correct test patterns.

Oki thanks PaulB, but do you give me your setting if you have a Sagem of course ;)

Because i haven t the dvd test.

Sorry for my bad english i m french ;)

From memory, brightness was 47, contrast was 50. BUT, you really do need to use a test pattern to get the exact settings for your own set.

Your english is good, certainly better than my French!
