Looking at mounting 37" LCD on False chimney Breast..

Standard Member
Hi all,

Anyone here mounted a 37" or bigger LCD on plywood walls?
We have a False chimney breast that is made of 10mm Plywood, i think it has studwork but not sure. It is solid if you push against it, so I think there is some kind of frame work behind it, any way, would I be able to mount straight onto it using the provided mounting screws etc, or would it be best to get specialized fixings?

For a flat mount you should be ok. If the ply is 10mm thick then bare in mind that you'll only have 10mm of thread holding the screws in. It may be worth looking at the butterfly fixings used in plasterboard as these don't rely on the screw threads gripping the 10mm of ply, they clamp the material instead.

Hope this helps
