went looking at lcd tv's this morning.the 2 which i liked most was a beko 20" from ASDA for £279 and toshiba 17" w/s from Empire for £369.
i'm also wanting a pvr soon and a stand to put everything on so i don't want to spend too much.
is the BEKO as good as people on here say it is ?
i've a panasonic e55 dvd recorder so want it to have a good picture.
    thanks

Isn't there a big difference - one is widescreen and the other isn't?

If yes - and you are getting a PVR (Freeview perchance?) as well - then I'd suggest you want a widescreen TV. Which discounts the Beko, no matter how good it is.

And, if screen shape isn't an issue - I think (but don't know for sure) that you'll find this TV has a naytive resolution of 640 x 480. Most 20 inchers do. Which is less than a PAL TV signal. In other words it will need to actually degrade the picture somewhat in order to display it.
