Not much up your way, but Manchester Airport supposed to be Photog Friendly.
Nearest little place that I know of is Breighton near Selby.
I want to get up there sometime, as it looks very much like Shuttleworth/Old Warden down here.
Think the lens is a 500mm prime??
Mcr airport is ok but jumbos are a bit dull
That links not too far away from me. Diane brother would love a day out there he's a massive plane buff. I might treat him

August 7, 2005 - Longleat, UK
Tickets are free....but you get entered into a ballot, so very small chance of actually getting one..
During practice on Friday, the Typhoon (Eurofighter) nearly lost it during a loop.
I've read several accounts from people who were there, and they suggest it came out of the loop low, and nearly pancaked onto the runway...
By all accounts, he was just SIXTEEN feet from smashing it, and several people were turning to run while others froze and s*** themselves.
Many thought he would eject, but it may well have been very nasty indeed if he did.
Not my pic, but taken just after he recoverd., aparrently the grass is rather scorched. Looking forward to seeing video of that one....
I would imagine his underpants are as well
Got any with more detail ie printable?
That Typhoon is a bit low
Impressive photos John. How long have you been doing this for? Make mine look decidedly amateurish! Were you in the stands or on the lawn?
I've got to tweek/trim mine and I'll post a few that I like
My God that's low!!!
I was in the Jubilee Garden enclosure, you get 'private' food, toilets and a deckchair..
Been taking pictures at airshows for years, you know the score, couple of 36 exp films.. always had lots of dark shapes and half pics before going digital in May last year.
Now I shot loads....over 1000 ar Fairford for example
The perfect tune to go with it too
p.s. Excellent shots again John... as usual
