My wife just got me Sea Dweller for my birthday [emoji33]
Many years ago ( about 30 ) I worked in insurance .
One day this couple came in to insure a fancy looking watch . It was a top of the range diver's watch and seem to recall they valued it at £500 ...
Anyways I foolishly asked why on earth he'd bought a diver's watch ...
He calmly said ' I'm a diver '
Turns out he worked on the off shore oil rigs .
We had a laugh anyways but I've never forgotten how silly I felt at the time .
I bet it's worth a few bob now, especially if it was a Rolex Sub!
I would've responded 'Diver' to a cheeky salesman all day long just to make him squirm.
I would also follow it up with a long-winded bullsh*t story about working on the oil rigs too. But that's just the kind of guy I am
Well he was a valued client as it turned out and known to the guys in the life insurance section of the firm but he was not known to me at the time..
Could be a fake looking at that photo. Some of the dial markers seem to be off.
For my 40th i got a tyre inflator from the GF......
I tried to contain my excitement. It's not like we've been together for well over a decade. Never once have i muttered, "i really wish i had a tyre inflator"
That is a very useful and practical gift. Good for her
Maybe a strong hint as to what she got you for the real present (my fingers are crossed for you).
Please elaborate. Real tyre inflator, or a cake in the shape of a tyre inflator?
I'd hope it was this one:
Such as an 'enhancement' for example?
Someone expended a lot of effort over this!
time well spent..
I'm glad I wasn't the only person whose mind was working this way.
As soon as you get past 40, it's usually reserved for Birthdays, Christmas and Holidays.
...She’s a keeper
I was hoping she was going to give him a Rolex.
It refers to a different poster I did the same double take myself
Yeah she’s a keeper [emoji1]. Some effort [emoji106]. She was gonna do Breitling as I love the Breitling I tried on a few weeks ago but the logo was too hard and she thought I love Sea Dweller as well and did that one instead [emoji1].
Told her would’ve been easier if she did my Oris instead [emoji1]
I once told my wife the same thing, and the next time we were in bed.......ouch. Really need to get that woman some hearing aids
I've only just cottoned on that this is a cake...
And there I was thinking how aweful it was that somebody was calling this proudly displayed present a fake.
