I'm having a bit of a "move about" next week and the end result will be that my DVD player is going to be about 4/5m away from my Amp.

So, can someone recommend a supplier (online or otherwise) of long cables please? I'm not fussed whether it's optical or coaxial so long as it's not too extortionately priced... Every High St. retailer I've been too either doesn't stock long enough cables, or wants the earth for them...

    Answers on a postcard :)

    What is "The Earth"?
Cable Talk Video3 is a capable digital coax that can be ordered in longer lengths it is £15 for 1m so 5m is about £40 maybe less,
You're unlikely to walk in a shop and buy one off the shelf.
    Is that the earth?

A 5 metre digital cable from Mark Grant in the Power Buy forum is only £32 which is very reasonable considering the quality.

    bobbypunk,

A few of my local AV shops stock cables long enough, but starting prices seem to be about £60 - not extortionate by any means but I'm pretty sure I can purchase online and save myself some money - if I can, I will :)

    Ian,

:suicide: - Thanks very much - I didn't think to even look in the Powerbuys forum. Just what I was after and highly recommended too it would seem :)

    Many Thanks,

    K.

    Ian,

I was sent a digital coax lead by Gordon (Convergent) a little while back in return for helping him out with something. Do you happen to know if that would have been one of Marks? Looks very similar...

It may have been although since Mark started making the cables one or two others are now also making them. If it came from Gordon it could have been one of Elliott's.

I was referring to the availability of that particular cable.
The question about "The Earth" was valid as you could be a student or you could be a lottery winner so "the Earth" was a bit too vague, I didn't mean to sound pissy

Apologies for misunderstanding your post :) I assumed you were talking about long cables in general...

As for the "earth" comment, I unfortunately fall into the "student" category you describe :( (Not that I ever seem to take much notice when it comes to AV :suicide: ) Thanks for your suggestion.
