    I had reservations also, but I think we should now get behind this and make it a good one. I only hope that it also serves to make public transport in this country better and bring it up to 3rd World standards ;)

    and what happens at big sporting events, LOTS AND LOTS OF PEOPLE GO TO WATCH THEM, and as this is the biggest sporting event in the world that will be a blooming lot of people spending a blooming lot of money

    I think our mayor Mr Ken is hoping all the people coming to see it come by car and make use of the congestion charge! Either that or public transport. :eek:

    We get to lose in front of all the world on our own manor, and have to pay for it. How cool is that :smashin:

    Thens there's the jobs that won't go to the local community, but the costs that our :clap:

    It's also something that can be spun into a victory for Blair :D

    I wonder what they'll do about pistol shooting events, as they're banned over here.

    It'll be interesting to see if they show any shooting at all: it's normally left untelevised over here, unless it looks like we'll get a medal out of it.

    I like the way the lottery will pay for some of it and "a special tax" for londoners, i hope i get a special discount on tickets.
    Dont get me wrong i think its great we have got the event :smashin:
