Anchor Bay UK seem to be dabbling into the realm of the horror movie 2 day festival.
Guests include Ingrid Pitt (yum), Caroline Munro (yum yum:p), Tom Savini, Doug Bradley (Pinhead), all 3 chicks from The Evil Dead plus a bunch of others. 22nd-23rd March.

I may well go along to this. Have been to a festival since the days of "Eurofest".

Saw ones with Fulci (his last appearence) and David Warbeck. Also saw Michael Foot walking his dog.

    was he uncut?
    Then again, don't answer that;)

Could possibly be a good place for a few of us to meet up for a drink, if anyone's interested. Not sure what I'll be doing in March yet though

... and here was me thinking that I'd be able to get a reasonably priced replacement freezer at this exhibition (me old one blew up recently). I do get me wires crossed with these thread titles

I've looked at the site and, maybe I'm being a little dim here, but are they actually showing any films?

I guess it'd be sort of cool to shake hands with Doug Bradley but I'm not sure it's £15's worth of sort of cool...

I've just been through all the onsite info and it doesn't look like they are showing any films. But you do have the opportunity to buy DVDs at inflated prices roughly twice what you'd pay online for them.
Also, it seems once you pay your entrance fee you get the chance to buy autographs off the guests at whatever price they see fit to charge.
Oh, and there's a disco on the evening.

What happened to the days of free autographs and films being shown at these things?

Why does this sound like just the thing you'd expect from a company that feels the need to rerelease it's entire back catalogue of DVD titles at least twice a year?

I think maybe I'll stop at home.

Theres the Flesh & Blood Festival coming up. This does have films.

    Flesh & Blood

Don't know if Michael Foots going. The Chiller Fest is more of a convention, which can be spooky at times. People who've been will know what I mean.

Doug Bradley is ubiquitous at such events. Infact it became a standing joke a one point. I can remember asking him at a Q & A session once whether there was any truth in the fact that Pinhead would be appearing as Widow T****y in Alladin, that Christmas.

Blimey, the sweary Mary filter has just censored the name of a classic British pantomime charactor. Help, help, I am being repressed.

The Flesh and Blood fest, hmmmmm wouldn't mind getting a look at Dust Devil on the big screen. Widely maligned, but very much one of my favourite films.

I have to say, from my reading of the site they seem to be implying that loads of sad, single horror/sci fi geeks can all come down, spend the night and party with all the gorgeous, available young chicks that are so commonplace at such events

And I hope you'll be keeping your charge for autographs to a reasonable level.

Aren't there any horror chicks anymore? Make no wonder the horror scene is dead. :zonked: Heck, maybe I can get a dance with Tom Savini. :nono:

(looking for excuses to use the new smilies)
