Sorry to ask what I am sure is a very stupid question, but I presume to be able to make use of the Progressive Scan/Proscan abilities of this TV (6381) with NTSC material, the DVD player has to be able to output in a Progressive scan mode ?

    Thanks for any help,

    Regards Mark.

Not a stupid question at all! Unfortunately you are unlikely to get a definative answer from us or from Loewe at present.

My findings so far are that, if the chassis inside the Vitros is creating a progressive image from the interlaced NTSC signal from a DVD player it is doing it badly.

If you feed a progressive NTSC 480P signal in RGB to the optional VGA board you will get a superior progressive scan image as long as the DVD player is of a high enough quality.
