I've just taken delivery of a Loewe Vitros this week. I've not played with it a lot yet but my first impression is that the image is not as sharp as I would expect, even on DVD. This is most evident on faces where a lot of detail seems to be lost, even in still. Has anybody had the same experience? I have reduced contrast to 40, brightness to around 26 and sharpness to 1. The sharpness doesn't appear to cure the problem. I hope I haven't got a duff because that would just destroy my confidence in widescreen CRTs altogether! :(

I used to have a Sony KV32FX65 (well, three actually over four months!) until it packed up, which is my comparison. Colour on the Vitros is far superior - more natural. I was blown away by the pod race is Star Wars: the Phantom Menace.
