My Loewe Xelos switches itself off and I sometimes struggle to get it back on.

have heard some horror stories of Loewe's exploding.

anybody know of a Loewe specialist repair in SE London/Kent??

is it time for a new tv?

thanks in advance

Its worth getting it checked out because if its an easily fixed problem then the xelos is still a cracking tv. If however you need to get anything serious done then its going to cost a packet. That said you dont need a specialist Loewe repair shop, most decent tv repair shops can handle Loewes.
For what its worth a new power supply unit for my Planus cost £150 all in inc collection & delivery. It would have cost £30 diagnosis if I didnt have the work carried out.

Oh I forgot to mention that the problem you describe is exactly what I had. We used to resort to giving it a good bang on the top to get it going, it just needed harder bangs until one day it decided not to start at all.

Linnsight could advise you of a local repairer.
Linnsight (Loewe's UK agent) used to be on 08000 27 64 65

My Aconda stopped working the other day. A local back-street repair shop had it for an afternoon, fixed a blown power-supply, changed a few transistors and had it back the next day. All for under £50. Well happy.

I would be wary of using a non authorised Loewe repairer.
When the power supply on my Credo failed last year, the TV's ART Number was required in order that the correct power supply could be obtained from Germany.
Some of the older CRT models were the subject of a product recall re a potential fire hazard.

Well seeing as an authorized Loewe repairer was supposed to have performed that very fix last year, my confidence in Loewe and their agents is not what it used to be.
