Complete newbie to this forum, so hoping you can help me out.

I am going to buy a new 32" TV to replace my old Loewe Aconda 9381, which I lost recently.

I would like to get a flat screen and have been looking at the panasonic TX32-LXD50 or 500 and the Loewe Xelos A32

the problem i that the Aconda was so good, that I am woried I will be disappointd with a LCD (I do not have space for a bigger plasma)

I am inclined to buy the Loewe Xelos, cause I liked their Aconda so much.

Anyone looked at the LCD next to a CRT?

    :lease:

why dont you consider getting an second hand acconda to see you through the next year or so ,then things would really have settled down by then.
    also,in september loewe launch 'image+' .
i not sure if its their pixel+ but its a big step forward i'm told.
so the message is wait a while before you jump to lcd.

I'd stay clear of LCD if I were you. If you can lose something as big as an Aconda, then you've got no chance with a slimline LCD!!:)

Let us know what you decide because after 3 months, my Aconda's still away for repair and my delaer has offered me a full refund - see my other recent thread. Ta

I have just replaced my Loewe Aconda 9381 with a Panny TX32LXD500.
I have to admit I was slightly disappointed at first now the PQ is superb.
Moved to component in and progressive scan from the DVD player which is much improved.

Need to get an upscaling DVD player or HTPC now to get some higher def content into the TV

    All in all :smashin:

Inch for inch I havent seen any plasma or lcd with a better picture than a Loewe CRT, I've got a Planus and hanker after something to redeem some floor space but cant justify spending quite a lot of money to get an inferior picture. If I were you I would settle for a 2nd hand Loewe CRT for the time being, unless you really need the space. Oh and I would also like to have more and better connectivity than the Planus offers:rolleyes:
