Loewe Bild 3.55 missing Netflix App - It has disappeared

Hi all

I have a bit of a weird problem. I have a Loewe Bild 3.55. When I bought it there was a Netflix app on it that was working fine. I used Netflix on the TV almost every day.

I've been out of the country for a few months. Now that I'm back, I've used the TV again, and the Netflix app has somehow disappeared from the TV.

I've gone online looking for a solution but all I get is that I should press the Netflix button on the remote control to access Netflix (e.g. How to use Netflix on your Loewe TV). My remote control has never had a Netflix button. This button might be available on the newer Loewe TV remote controls but it's not on my remote control. I've always gone into Apps to use Netflix.

I've made sure the TV is on the latest software. Also, the Netflix app is not available in the App Browser. I've even selected every locale to see if it will show up but nothing has made any difference.

I'm perplexed about this. I have no idea how he app disappeared off the TV.

Has anyone seen this before, or know of any way to get the Netflix app back onto the TV?

Any help appreciated.

A very basic thing that fixes weird problems, have you tried unplugging/switching off at the power socket and waiting 10-15mins then powering on again?

And if that doesn't work, you could try a factory reset ?

If your tv has a web browser app. you could try that?

• I've tried a factory reset but that didn't work.
• I also tried the web browser, but the browser doesn't support HTML5 and Silverlight so all I got was a warning message when I logged into netflix.com.
• I'll try the unplugging at the socket. Might leave it switched off and unplugged for the whole night.

I was also wondering if there was any resource where I could download the Netflix app to USB and then copy it onto the TV. Sounds like a stretch but I'll try anything at this point.

No, you won't be able to do that. Fire TV Sticks are around half-price at the moment - I would grab one quick !

I hate it when that sort of thing happens, my old Samsung removed the HBO Nordic app 12 months ago and hasn’t updated to the HBO Max app.

I sent an email to Loewe and got a reply with instructions on how to restore Netflix (pdf instructions). I've attached the reply below.

The following procedure sorted it out for me. Hope it helps someone else.

DETAILS:

Lost Netflix App after software update from v5.3.5

A change is required in the Service menu to enable the previous software level to be
loaded.

Note: avoid making any changes in Service Mode, with the exception of the
following steps:

Below is a link to the previous software version. Copy to the root of a USB stick, this
means do not add to a folder. Place the USB into one of the side sockets on the TV

(The file is shipped in .7z format. Extract the file to .tli format before proceeding)

1. Press the home button on the remote and navigate to the ‘gear’ icon at the
bottom left and press ok
2. On the next menu navigate to ‘extras’ and press ok
3. The next menu will have DR+ Streaming highlighted. Within a few seconds of the
menu appearing press 7 5 6 3 9 3 quickly
4. If done correctly, the service menu will appear
5. Navigate to Chassis > options and press ok
6. Navigate to old SW-versions and press ok
7. There will be a 0 in the data box. Change this to 1 and press ok
8. Exit out of all menus and go back to the home screen and to the ‘gear’ icon
9. Navigate to ‘Control’ and press ok
10. Navigate to ‘Software update’, press ok, select ‘via USB’ and press ok
11. The current software level will be displayed. Press the ok button and the software
from the USB stick will be displayed
12. Follow the instructions on screen

When the update is complete, follow the steps below:

1. Go to home screen and to the ‘gear’ icon, press ok
2. Navigate to ‘Extras’ press ok
3. Navigate to ‘Repeat initial installation’.
4. Follow the on screen instructions, this will retune the TV
5. We recommend switching the mains off for a minute then switch back on (rather
than simply standby)
6. When complete, Netflix will be back on the home screen
