Hi all
So my background was car hifi and security for 20 years with many awards and and magazine features.
But when I moved in with my now wife I changed my career, still in the motor industry but I missed my music so much I moved to 2 channel hifi.
The system was a full audio note hand made valve amplifier and valve CD player this sounded amazing, but once again my career changed again and I went back to engineering and the hifi took a big back seat so I decided to sell it all, I was a bit gutted but hey ho time to move on.
Then the dreaded lock down happened when it came to the second lock down I realised that I have never taken my daughter to the cinema and we all missed watching movies together.
So I decided to start with a small set up, sound bar and sub, then got rid of that fast.
I started to do some research and went for the denon avr 2700 which Im very happy with and a canton movie 75 again I had to get rid of the speakers they just wasn’t doing it for me. So more research thank you to the Av forum I have ended up with the jamo thx d 500 and love them.
System details
Denon avr 2700
Xbox one
Philips 70 inch ambi light tv
Jamo d 500 lcr and surrounds
Dali alteco front heights
Svs sb 2000 pro rear
Behringer mx1000 d
Le voice x2 8 inch sub fronts
All custom speaker cables all cut to the same length for equal power supply.
Custom built power distribution and power cables.
Full case grounding system
As you can see the front of the room has gone through a few changes.
The new cabinet has a allowed me to bring the lcr all at ear level and on access to the mlp.
The rest of the space is for my wife’s movie themed Lego collection.
The alteco front heights are a bit squeezed in due to the stair case but still sound good.
The side surrounds are just above head height but again I was slightly governed due to the fused spur fitted and as I rent my house I can’t move it.
