Living Room 85" Wall Mount Set up - Help Me Improve Please Need Ideas

I don't like the big white wall behind the TV.

It is a much bigger space than it looks in the picture and when I'm watching dark scenes the white sorta distracts me and pulls me out the experience.

What's the best way to "soften" the experience?

Was thinking maybe paint the wall brown?

Or perhaps create a fabric background with say 12" all around the tv?

Any ideas appreciated.

I'd look at doing a floating wall panel with LED lighting on the edge. Something like this:



Paint it a dark grey/black etc. You should be able to do it quite cheaply out off MDF etc

Yeah, that's pretty nice. Not sure about the lighting though. I want to remove distractions.

I think that might be the solution for removing the white and being able to hide cables as well.

Do it without the lighting. As you say, it's a great way to hide cables etc too.
