Just bought LVW-5045 DVD Recorder with 160G HD for editing Home Movies.
Camcorder is a Micro MV Digital Camcorder Sony IP7. Instruction manual informs not to connect Micro MV Devices to Liteon DVD Recorder DV-Link (IEEE 1394).
Liteon Tech support cannot elaborate as to why not. Anybody know the reason why. Is it a software issue or a Hardware issue? Tech support says it might "blow up" and it is not recommended to try.

I had a similar issue with a friend's MicroMV and a Pioneer HDD-DVD machine. No damage was done, but evidently the digital data format of MicroMV is not the same as DV. So, it's analog connections, I suspect. Use SVideo; the results should be pretty good.
