Lite-On Deleting Problem

I've recently purchased my first DVD Recorder - the Lite-On DDA110 from Tesco. There's a limited user manual to get started. I had to download the full manual but still can't amswer my problem.

If anyone out there has this machine, I have a problem with deleting. When selecting TOP MENU I have 2 DELETED black windows (erased) appearing on a disc and also an EMPTY window. Whichever one of the DELETED sections I set to OVERWRITE, the other DELETED section (if at OVERWRITE) switches OVERWRITE to off.

How can I get them both to OVERWRITE?

You need to tell us what type of disc you are using?
