List of LCD TVs with 1:1 pixel mapping from HTPC

Hi everyone,

I've been reading these forums for a few weeks now and feel that there is a need for a list of LCD TVs that support a 1:1 pixel mapping from a PC/HTPC source over DVI/HDMI or VGA (15pin D-Sub).

EDIT: A more complete list is here: http://pixelmapping.wikispaces.com

The old list (no longer added to):
  • Samsung LE-40R7* VGA 1360x768
  • Samsung LE-32R7* VGA 1360x768
  • Amoi LC37AF1E HDMI 1920x1080
  • LG 32LX2R DVI 1360x768
  • LG 32LP1D DVI 1360x768
  • LG 37LC2D HDMI and VGA 1360x768
  • Sony 32V2000 VGA 1360x768
  • Sony 32S2000 VGA 1360x768
  • Sony 46X2000 HDMI 1920x1080
  • Hyundai A321 VGA 1360x768
  • Hyundai Q321 DVI or VGA 1360x768
  • JVC LT-32DX7 VGA 1360x768

I don't own any TVs yet (i use my PC) so if someone could provide me with Powerstrip settings for 50Hz for any in the list, please do so.

Disclaimer: The list has been compiled using a combination of Google and AVForums and therefore may have mistakes. I suggest you double check the data before making a decision on a purchase.

Why the 720P after the TVs? Surely if you are trying to get 1:1 pixel matching then you won't be using 720P unless you want a big black border?

My JVC LT-32DX7 does [email protected] over VGA with the 3 pixel borders left & right. I'm sure there are lots of other TVs that allow this as well, e.g. Sony S2000 & V2000 series, Samsung R74s etc.

Sony 46X2000 apparently works at 1920x1080 over HDMI.

There certainly is such a need, and thats why there is one right here !

Its a wiki, which means its easy to keep up-to-date, and less messy than a forum thread because everybody can directly edit it. Its already linked to from the Plasma forum FAQ, but i guess it would be nice to have it in the LCD FAQ as well. The idea is to have one centralized respository for information on which HDTVs do 1:1 as well as related information for HTPC<->Display issues.

I can see you have a few ones not listed on the wiki, please add them, as its impossible for me to personally keep up.

Thats a strange article, it says "All TVs scale, yes all!". But some TV's do optical overscan, ie they have say 1280x720 *physical* pixels but not all the phyiscal pixels are actually visible. In that case 1280x720 input can be shown overscanned without scaling(but it also means you wont likely see a PC mode on such a display).

Actually, the list is wrong in that the Hyundai A321 does NOT support 1:1 pixel mapping (for now) over HDMI witha DVI adaptor. Bizarrely, this is limited to the VGA connector...

I assume the Q321 does though - I have updated both lists.
