I rented GONY last night and watched it via DTS but strangely found that at times the lip sync was way out but most of the time it was spot on!?

Anyone else found this? I thought my amp was at fault but then it was fine again? Wierd. I didn't have time to try the same scenes with DD.

Cool, that makes me feel better - good job I didn't wack my amp!

I thought it was good as a spectacle but they didn't explain enough about the draft riots etc - it made more sense after I watched the documentaries on the bonus disc.

Did you find that your sub did very little work?

My copy arrived from CD wow yesterday, haven't watched yet as the golf is on. I've had lip sync problems before with DTS which weren't evident with DD. Unfortunately my amp doesn't let you play with lip sync.

people always complained about lip-sync with DD, saying DTS was immune due to being more accurately clocked to the video or something, now we have this, first moulin Rouge then Gangs Of New York. maybe DTS can't handle long running times?!?

    yes, i am being facetious...

Although it's always been mooted that DTS shouldn't suffer from lipsync issues, I remember the first dual DTS / DD disk I bought "Teaching Mrs Tingle" suffered from terrible lipsync issues in the gym scene - but was fine on DD5.1

I must say, the only time I notice lipsync. issues are on R2 DTS DVDs - R1 DTS is usually OK.

I've wondered if its a 4% PAL speedup / clocking issue, but can't think of a rational explanation for why this should be the case.
