linn axis motor bearing wear

hi i have just taken my axis apart ready to have a new cartridge fitted and noticed the motor spindle has about 1mm of side to side play, is this normal for a 20 year old turntable as the turntable still runs fine and makes no strange noises ?

I've just checked my Axis and I've no side to side play but mine doesn't get a lot of use. Might be worth asking a Linn dealer, I had the hinges break on mine and the replacements were the same as used on the LP12 so replacements might be available.

edit: sorry I got confused and thought you meant the main bearing, I've now checked the motor and that is also play free.
