    Hi all

I am just about to purchase a LX5090 with TV stand and under screen speaker. My question is, what is the best way of linking up the following kit?

    Pace V3 Sky+ box
Panasonic DVD hard drive recorder DMR-EX85
    Tag Mclaren AV32R Processor
    Rotel 5 channel power amp
    Mordaunt Short MS208 floorstanding speakers
    Mordaunt Short T1000 centre speaker
    Mission DS77 surround speakers
    REL Q150E subwoofer

I have not got Sky HD yet!!!! But will in the near future through my Sky supervisor pal, after my wife has got used to the LX5090!:)

I have had a Toshiba 42 inch rear projection TV for 7 years so the leap to the Pioneer should be fairly radical! The Sky+ box is set to RGB and the Panasonic is daisy chained through this on the way to the TV via the one RGB scart

Is it best to take the HDMI connection from the DVD recorder and have this as the only connection to the new Pioneer? The Panny upscales to 720p/1080i so the Pioneer would probably be best for upscaling duties?

I also have a Panasonic AX100 projector which we use on a 84" screen. The picture quality via the Panasonic DVD recorder and HDMI is superb for standard def DVDs so maybe linking the recorder through to the LX5090 when we are not using the projector will be the best thing to do until we get Sky HD?

Thanks for any help you can give...

    hi
on my 5090H i have the hdmi straight to the tv.
this way i dont have anything that will possibly disturb the signals along the way.
it also makes it easyer to use different settings for the different sources.

    Paul,

RGB scart into the LX5090 is good but HDMI in is usually better. If you go HDMI you will obviously have the hassle of changing cables when you want to use the PJ.

When the LX5090 arrives try both (you have the cables to do so). Then decide if it is worth swapping the HDMI cable when you want to use the PJ.

Thanks for the advice chaps. I will try both options.

I am not that worried about swapping over the HDMI cable to the PJ as it is not a permanent fixture. We have a picture which we take down to reveal small brackets that takes a shelf which the PJ sits on. Quite wife friendly you see!
