Lines Running Across Old TV

    Hi
    I have a toshiba c-2035 that has white lines running horizontally across the top section of the screen and i know that it is a problem with the tv as it happens with every device pluged into it
    How should I fix this problem

    And also how do u get rid of the electricity inside the tv when it is turned off in order not to get electrocuted when fidling inside the tv

    Hello Espxxx (and welcome to the Forum :) ).

    As you probably know, the picture is made up of lines, with a "spot" which zig-zags back and forth from top to bottom.

    As the spot whizzes back to the top to start another frame, it should be suppressed so you don't see it.

    It would appear that the "flyback suppression" on your TV is not working.

    This is not something you can fix yourself. :lesson:

    As for making the set safe, with the greatest respect, if you have to ask this then DON'T DO IT! :nono:

    Even disconnected from the mains, TV's can still have thousands of volts inside, so please don't even think about it. :thumbsdow
