Question Lines on an ES8000

I recently picked up a UE46ES8000 that has unfortunately got lines down the screen. It only cost me £20 with stand, remote and 4 pairs of 3D glasses so worth a punt at that price. The lines appear rock solid even when manipulating the ribbon cables connected to the screen itself so I tried another T-con board but the result is the same. Has anyone got any experience of fixing this kind of fault or is the screen goosed?

I had colour lines like that. Then I moved house last month. When finally installed they had dissapeared. Strange but now the TV is like new again.

Tap all around the back of the tv particularly on the right side as you look at it from the back. If the lines change in any way, you have a bad connection to or actually on your T-con board.

If the lines do not change then you must remove the back and very carefully remove the ribbon cables leading to the LCD panel itself. Do not use any tools they are very easy to damage. Remove the board and examine under a magnifier for cracks in the solder joints, paying particular attention to the ribbon connector joints. Solder as necessary.

If this does not fix it then you need a replacement t-con board. Google the model and serial number of the tv then enter the long barcode on the PCB in a search box. Aquire and replace.

If the lines change when the back is tapped, remove and re-insert the ribbon cables after cleaning with metho or isopropyl alcohol.
This is pretty much the same procedure for any LED displaying these symptoms.

Hi. I have exactly the same problem, i changed T-CON board but lines still appear, LED panel problem?
Yes, the way these panels are fabricated, on the assembly line the connectors for the ribbons are heat-glued to the actual LED panel, in a precise automated process. It is virtually impossible for the enthusiast or even an experienced engineer to permanently repair the panel, believe me, I and many others have tried. Sometimes it's possible to jag it by inserting tiny wedges in precisely the right spot but it is very hit and miss.
I've given up on mine and ordered a new Qled 95B for myself.

I was hoping that T-con board was faulty but it seems T-con board was working fine after i replaced it and vertical lines still appeared, i guess there isn’t much to do anymore.

Could it be main board fault?
