My wife bought it from Woolies, works fine on my wide screen tv but on my projector ( Barco g808s) it does not go full width, an inch or so either side short, first film to do this!
Anybody else with a pj had this problem.

    Cheers,

    Dave

This is normal for Disney films, they often use a funny aspect ratio. I think its 1.66:1 or something like that.

Still, it's better than chopping the movies in half to a 4:3 aspect ratio like they normally do.

The disc is 1.85:1 Anamorphic, but it does indeed appear to have slight black bands at the side of the image when shown on my Barco 800. I thought this was my blanking being set wrong, but by flicking the Iscan ratio button there are indeed black bars on the print. Very strange.........

Jeff i have checked it on a few machines and yes it is 1.85:1 ratio, it looks like a mastering problem which has caused very slight bands at the sides, only shown on my Barco.

watching most disneys on my telly is fine, but on the PC I can see the black bars on the side as well.
But as mentioned above a lot of disney films are thinner thaan 1.85 around 1.77or 1.66. It's just normal even though they say it's 1.85. Most people would lose that info on the sides anyway due to overscan so it doesn't matter that much if u have a bit of picture info there or black bars.
At least my telly cuts off the bars ( I hate overscan most films look thinner on TV than on my PC)

I bought the R1 because I'd heard there was going to be a video AND sound problem on the R2. The rumour turned out to be correct. Gareth Gates DOES appeear on the dvd. :D

Here is the reply I had from Disney:

Subject: RE: Lilo & Stitch dvd problem

    Dear Dave,

Our Technical department has advised the follow:

Basically this feature has an original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.66:1 which is not all that standard these days but still quite commonly used on Disney animated features. I believe that with the increased total picture area afforded by some projectors the effect the client is seeing is probably down to his under/overscan.

This is not a fault as I see it but merely the clients set up showing him more rather than less.

    Hope is of some help
    Regards
    Carole

Packaging says 1.85:1 not 1.66:1 seems they cant make their mind up!

    Dave
