On holiday is week so I have just watched Lilo and Stitch in DTS.

Man what a soundtrack, the first twenty minutes are fantastic with loads of LFE, rear effect and just cracking good sound effects.

    Worth a view.

ONLY on the R2 as well - R1 only has DD. Apparently, R2 Signs has dts as well, where a the R1 dosen't. Are we starting to cease being a third world country in dvd land after all..?

Maybe the Yanks have rumbled the 'dts is always better' myth. On the other hand maybe not...

dts tracks are becoming commonplace on HK dvds now as well.

For some reason we missed out on DTS soundtrack in region 4 (Aust/NZ) which is odd as we normally have pretty much identical releases to R2 most of the time

True, the soundtrack on Lilo & Stitch is very impressive, especially the battles at the end! It gave my Sub a good work out!

so what good is the DTS track on the UK if the film is cut and has gareth's elvis song on there???
I'm still holding out for a R1 SE with DTS.
and yes the UKR2 of signs has DTS whereas the R1 has not, pretty weird, but I think it's due to BV they already gave us DTS on Monsters inc but the R1 "only" had DD.

Gareth Gates features only as a video, the song on the end titles was sung by someone else, and there are no cuts according to IMDB

Supposedly a shot of Lilo climbing into a washing machine was substituted for a shot of her climbing into a cupboard, as the BBFC has a long standing ban against this kind of thing. That's the only cut I'm aware of.
