    I have a panny 37pw5 plasma and there are certain things i like and certain things that i dislike about it:mad:

    The things i like are: nice cinematic image on very well mastered films,big picture,space saving.

    Things i dislike are: slight flicker,creaking noise,moving backgrounds,chroma problems,not sympathetic of poor quality recordings.

    Even though i have these dislikes i still would not go back 2 crt tv. :rolleyes:

    Likes: size of picture, progressive scan image, flat screen, WOW factor when visitors come round.

    Dislikes: problems with rapidly moving images, magnification of crappy cable broadcasts (garbage in garbage out!), increasing debt due to upgraditis with rest of kit to match plasma!

    Yes, a bit of "interference".

    There were some posts today from Cam Logan about the Arcam DV88+ needing extra power shielding! :rolleyes:

    This AV lark just gets worse and worse - the more you know the more paranoid you become.....

    Dislikes: The amount of heat it kicks out, especially noticable in summer where the room gets very hot when watching a long film.

    Likes: Pretty much everything else - I don't watch any TV so never really experience poor picture quality or badly encoded sources.

    Likes:
    * The fact that the picture is as big as a 35" CRT and i'd never get a CRT that size in the space the Plasma occupies
    * Built in scart sockets, RGB compatible
    * RGBHV input for hooking up PC
    * Line 23 WSS (Auto aspect ratio switching on all inputs)
    * No scanlines visible even when in Zoom mode
    * Built in deinterlacer does a good job with both video and film (PAL and NTSC), no loss of picture resolution.
    * Sony on screen menus and remote control are easy to use
    * RCA sound outputs can pass the sound from the tuner/scart inputs to the amplifier without distortion
    * Component input should be PAL P/S compatible (not tried it yet)

    Dislikes:
    * Colour depth not as good as a CRT, not so good with details especially in the blacks and if you look close it looks dotty (ditherered) and the dots are flashing, some banding between shades but not too bad.
    * When the picture pans horizontally there is some reduction of colours which makes it look dotty and shows banding on peoples faces (hard to describe) - I dont think this is a deinterlacing artifact
    * Background black is grey in a totally dark room
    * No DVI input
    * Scaling is not very good when connected to PC using non standard resolutions
    * Slight buzzing noise audible in totally silent parts of movies, gets louder the brighter the picture is
    * Only one component input
    * Chroma bug very evident - anything that's in red looks pixellised

    Despite it's failings, I STILL LOVE MY PLASMA!
