Is it normal for a screen to allow a very small amount of light through the screen material? I noticed today on my new screen that you can see a faint image on the back of the screen. It is very faint but there is definitely some of the picture "seeping" through onto the black material on the back of the screen. Could this be part of the design to improve blacks and contrast? The screen is normal 'Matt White' and has a gain of 1:1.

It is not unusual to see some light getting through the screen. It does mean that the image you see is not as bright as it could be, since some light is escaping, but the loss is negligible.
