LG vs Philips OLED TVs - YouTube apps 4K?

Between the typical Philips and LG OLED TVs, do both have full 4K support in their YouTube apps?

I was leaning towards a Philips 48 unit due to the Android OS and the ambilight, but I’m hearing talk of a poor YouTube app implementation.

I probably watch as much YouTube as I do other sources combined, so a key factor.

I have a different Philips and had no issues with 4k YouTube so see no reason why it shouldn't be ok on the oled

YouTube is a web-based app on all TV's and is almost entirely identical now.
Android may have an edge with features (like auto previewing thumbnails), after all its google that produce Android TV and own YouTube.

It's more that Android TV itself is more clunky that seems to put people off. Although even LGs OS has gotten more 'clunky' with newer revisions.

No issues, but is the app actually 4K, I am reading it is basically 1080p upscaled…
