LG TV, Sky HD, & Wii... but which home cinema?

Hi all,

I'm currently redesigning my parents setup as they are refurbishing their living room. To put you in the picture, they have...

  • Sky+ HD box
  • LG 32LD450 (which will change to a 42" in the near future)
  • Nintendo Wii (no idea why... they never use it!

The main remote they use is the Sky HD one, and I would like to try and keep it that way. I'm looking for a 5.1 surround sound and blue ray (poss 3D) system that will enable them to continue using the Sky HD remote to control as much as possible.

For instance they need to turn the TV on with SkyHD remote (on remote... TV - ON), then control sky as normal. The home cinema should automatically turn on and all sound should be directed via the 5.1 speakers.

What setup would be best for this? In theory I believe any HDMI-CEC system should do it but would like confirmation. I'm eyeing up the LG BH6220S, partly to keep to the same brand to make using the other remote easier when watching a dvd for instance.... (can just use the one TV remote).

That said I have also read good things about the Panasonic systems...

I have already run good quality speaker locations to where they will end up, top four corners of room - not perfect I know but only place I think I can get my mum to agree on. As such the satellite speakers need to be small and discreet, maybe silver/white. :D

any pointers welcome!

...many thanks all!

I thought I'd post an update here, I've now purchased speakers for the setup, a Jamo set...

I'm still looking for the best av receiver / br player...

Any ideas? Thanks all...

I'm now looking at the BH7420P. Can anyone let me know whether I could achieve the above with this?
