LG TV Resolutions??

Hi guys I have an LG 42PX5D. It's a HighDef TV a with resolution of 1024 X 768 Pixels. I was just wondering what this means in terms of it's output i.e 720p, 1080i; will it have to do any upscaling.

Also the main question I wanted to ask was do you think buying an MS VGA Cable will be worth it? Will I lose any quality?

The reason I ask is because I want to connect my Wii via component so need to free it up.

Thanx in advance.

get the official vga cable, set the dashboard to 1024x768,and enjoy dvds, upscaled to higher resolution, and better quality picture than component.(the vga colours on the tv may need tweeking,as its standardly paler when first used.

If your tv's optimum res is 1024X768 and you've got your 360 plugged in via component, what resolution should you select through the dashboard then?
