Question Lg tv Panasonic home cinema issues

Hi I've been looking through some of the forum pages to see if I can find an answer to this question but to no avail so sorry for asking the same question as quite a few others.

I've recently changed my Panasonic plasma for the LG 50LF580V led and whilst I'm pleased with the all important picture and smart to aspect of the product I'm having some real challenges getting it to work with my Panasonic home cinema BTT405.

I've tried using the HDMI arc cable and also the digital optical cable but still no sound comes from the home cinema. Tried different hdmi cables to.

Please help?

Have you plugged the HDMI cable into the correct Specific arc HDMI socket?

Enabled optical output? Configured in the tv settings?

HI
Yes,I've connected to hdmi 1 which is the arc enabled one and enabled the optical/arc output.

Thanks

HDMI CEC (required if you plan to use ARC) can be a pain when working wth multiple brands of kit.

To start with I'd disable CEC (Simplink on the LG) and concentrate instead on getting the Optical Output on the TV to work with an Optical Input on the Sound system.

Thanks Joe,

I'm not sure if lg have changed their software recently but I can't find anything that allows me to turn simplink on or off. I was looking for it as I thought it might need to be enabled but couldn't find it.

Also not sure if this is relevant but I don't have a smart remote.
