LG taking OLED to India in Q2

Emerging markets and technology

Reflecting the importance of the emerging economies for the fortunes of the big players and uptake of new technology, LG has said it will launch it's 55-inch OLED TV in India during quarter 2 of this year. That's exactly the same launch window as in the UK and may even mean they get it before The States.

The announcement was made during LG's Tech Show 2013 being held in Delhi.
It will be interesting to see how they price it on the sub-continent, given the asking price is $10,000 in the US.

LG also revealed they will be releasing their flagship Optimus G Pro smartphone in the territory in the same period. LG is anxious to get its size 12's more firmly in the smartphone door and, again, emerging markets such as India could prove pivotal to those ambitions.
