LG SN11RG Owners Thread

Also expecting a soundbar to have high end video gaming features is a bit too much.
Sure but then LG shouldn't advertise its new soundbars with HDMI 2.1 if it actually is NOT HDMI 2.1. That is pretty misleading in my opinion. There was no word that only one of the 2.1 features is supported so I assumed that it is a full HDMI 2.1 support (this assumption was also supported by the fact that LG introtuced full fat HDMI 2.1 into their 2019 and 2020 TV models). It didn't make sense to me that all TVs from last year and this year get full fat HDMI 2.1 but the soundbars, which are also not exactly cheap, only have a almost completely stripped 2.1.

That part I agree. I think with soundbar HDMI 2.1 means eARC. Anything else is a bonus.

I know that full HDMI 2.1 features from a soundbar would be nice, but the eArc works flawlessly for me so I'd have no need for the HDMI 2.1 full functionality.

Wouldn't any TV with full HDMI 2.1 support already have eArc by default, thus making the fact that the soundbar could do 2.1 pretty insignificant?

So the minor dropout you had with eARC is now fixed?

Yep, just pulled the trigger with the price drop! I also had a $200 Best Buy gift card that was given to me as part of my recent LG C9 OLED purchase. So, I'm happy camper now!

FYI...the Samsung Q90R also dropped to $999.98. This was a tough decision for me. Ultimately, I decided to go all LG.

Bought a samsung HW-Q90R soundbar with surrounds to work with my wall mounted 65" LG OLED C8, before the SN11RG was announced. The samsung soundbar drops out on hdmi2 whilst on ps4, but worst of all is the lip sync issue, i can only use the soundbar for watching blurays or 4k discs, if i try to use instead of tv audio via the optical or hdmi arc then lip sync is awful, tried all adjustments but need negative lip syn which is not available. Thinking of buying the LG SN11RG which hopefully would sync with my LG TV, as same manufacturer. any thoughts?

No, but the issue was replicated by others so it must be an incompatibility issue with the disc in question (Le Mans 66). It also did it on Halloween 2019, but nobody seems to own that on here to test it.
LG have not got back to me a second time, so I may chase them again but that's hard now I'm back at work.

I had similar issues with the HW-Q90R, was worse with SKY Q unless I reduced the audio quality. I have read that it is an LG TV issue (B7 OLED in my case). Hope the SN11RG doesn't have the same issue with the B7

Has anyone brought The Invisible Man on 4K?
Just watched it and had a few dropouts in the sound.
Two were randomly in the movie and couldn't be replicated by a rewind.
About our ads
Another two can be replicated:
1) The universal logo and anthem before the movie's menu even comes on. There's a slip as the audio is playing.
2) The menu to the movie. When left for about a minute there's a skip too.

Any predictions on UK price in short term? I was about to buy then saw the US price just got discounted! I'm sure it will at some point drop but I was hoping to buy soon, so don't want to wait forever.

Considering this is a flagship 7.1.4 soundbar and is now a formidable rival to Samsung Q90R, I think its going to be above £1200 on a medium term on its own unless retailers start doing bundle offers which could bring the cost down by 20-30%.

It’s a shame there was no price drop on this, just purchased the q90r for £1200. Yes would’ve been great having the LG to go with my c9 but I’m not spending £1500 on a soundbar

You do realise the Q90R was released last year for £1,399 and £1,499 and after a year you had got the same for £200 less which shows the bar is holding its own ground.

yeah was happy to pay £1200 However my misses was not so happy about it 😂. I wanted the q90 last year but was a little over budged. If the LG comes down a little more I’ll pick it up

There were few lucky ones here who got 35% discount on the soundbar when purchased with any TV from Currys.

for those comparing the price of the lg sn11 to the samsung q90 yes it is more expensive but it would only take you 10 songs or 2 movies or even call of duty in atmps to see that this lg bar is far far a no another far superior soundbar. Build operation performance

Got a question: When i will play LPCM 5.1 content, the side channels are putting out audio instead of the Rears? Only Dolby and DTS getting the Rears to work. What a bummer
Yea i know you can force the rears to work with a different sound mode but thats always worse than the standard more imho.

Are you using Nintendo as that seems to be the only one still stuck on age old LCPM?

Wondering if this is the same behaviour with other soundbars with LPCM 5.1?

No dont have a Nintendo. Dont own the SN11, got the Q90r. Thought about switching but noticed this problem. The Q90r is always using the rears during 5.1 content, doesnt matter if LPCM, Dolby or DTS.

I know this is an SN11 forum, but I saw several people talking about buying the SN10YG. Does anyone know if the SN10 has the same subwoofer cut out issues that plagued the SL10YG and other similar LG models? I bought an SL10 that had this issue, and replaced it with a Samsung HWQ80R that had different but equally troublesome issues. Now I'm replacing the Samsung with the SN10YG, but I fear if I have to return a third soundbar my credit card issuer will think I'm running a cash rewards scam or something.
