    Hi all,

Right i'm really dumb at all this but i was wondering if any of you kind people can help.

I'm after a Plasma and after trawling through a load of threads i'm still no clearer. Although i am torn between the 2 above.

I want a Plasma to watch Sky connect to media centre and DVD's. Can someone please give me a simple answer.

    Which one is best

    Thanks in advance

Simple answer: - get the Panasonic, better picture quality

Answer you don't want: - spend a long time demoing them both and make up your own mind

The Panasonic is better than the LG. Don't think twice about it. LG is the best budget model out there, but the PW7 is arguably the best standard-def plasma TV you can buy in terms of picture quality. No one can tell you the LG performs better.

    Right guys,

    Thanks for answers, i think.

Might edge for the panny then,

2nd moment of dumbness coming up.

All this talk about HD, does this mean SD is dying forever?, and me buying a SD screen, is this silly or the best option on a limited budget
Are they upgradable at all <------- Risk of sounding dangerously stupid.

Sky HD isn't coming till 2006. You'll need to buy a 'scaler' to get the Panasonic to display HD, but those will be much cheaper then (£800-£1000 now)

    Cheers Pea,

I have decided Panny is the way to go,

One last thing, then i might stop annoying you all,

I have found one for £1293 including the scart board and tuner thingy. Is this good, cause my visa is out and ready for some action

The tuner box is ok, but apparently it's not as good as the input boards that you put in the PW7.

    LiFo,

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs but you do realise that the PW7 does not come with speakers either. This was one of the deciding factors that swayed me to get the LG RZPX11, and although as peabo says above " No one can tell you the LG performs better", I believe with the latest 5000:1 contast/firmware ver 5.11 and above LG's are on par with the PW7 on PQ certainly through RGB and VGA/DVI. I know many will disagree but this is my personal opinion.
