All considering purchasing either of these ...... is the resolution adequate on the PX11 ?? as this is a cheaper model and suits my pocket more...

It's adequate for me. The best thing you can do is look at the displays yourself.

Note that if you are happy with the styling of the PX, but want the resolution of the PY, then you could always opt for the 42PX12X, which is about £1800.

Where can the PX12 be purchased? A google search only provided Belgian sites.

RZ42PX12 is not likely to be available in the UK. Grey Import is always possible though.

Why? It's listed on the LG UK website, listed on a couple of UK retailers, and is the UK/Euro model number.

42px12x is available in Canada. It's super in 1024x768 & 1080i modes but I've noticed some scaling artifacts on lower res sources.

Quick question: Are there any technical issues likely to arise with ordering an RZ42PY10 from a European site?

There seems to be a saving of about £200 to be had over 24-7 electrical's price (assuming I have my Euro exchange rates right), but are there going to be any problems setting it up - other than, presumably, the wrong type of power plug?

Not as such (AFAIK), although if you intend to use the built in tuner, then it might take a trip in to the service menu to get it working correctly - there are some regional things set up in there.

Logistics is more of a concern - ie. how you get it over here, how likely it is to be damaged in transit, and how much it will cost you to do so.

That's very handy, Graham, since it means the PY10 comes down to the UK price of the PX12 - it also opens up a few extra suppliers for either screen since UK-based ones are thin on the ground (24-7 and counting)!

all I need to do now is get some translation going and try to work out which the reputable sites are, and I'm up and running. :rotfl:
