Any information or reviews appreciated, this LG 37" LCD appears a good buy with DVI & 1366 resolution & @ £1849 delivered from BE Direct seems a bargain. Looked at the Sharp & Philips 37" so far, the only other choices, would like to know the refresh rate especially.

Meant the Millisecond refresh rate, hopefully around 16 ms, not 25ms as some of the older panels.

Likewise I'd like to know some more 'technical' specs of this set, particularly whether it will accept a PC DVI input at 1366x768. Have emailed LG support but no reply as yet...

Any links to the user manual would be appreciated.

Had a look at LG's website...

    http://uk.lge.com/prodmodeldetail.d...d=01&modelCodeDisplay=RZ37LZ30&model=NOTHING#

It says that it DOES have DVI. This is the first 37" LCD TV with proper 16:9 (1366x768) and DVI input for under £2000 (other than the LC37GA3E from EmpireDirect which they never fulfilled any orders for). I'm very tempted as those were the requirements I was looking for before I purchased.

Think I'll wait and see a review first but it does look very promising.

Seems to fulfill my requirements, apart from no review. Would like to know how long this panel has been on the market, Contrast ratio a little low @ 500:1 as opposed to the Sharps @ 800:1, but this would not be the deciding factor for me, more interested in the PQ and connectivity, although the website states it has DVI, is it HDCP compliant?

Have emailed, asking for Response Time, HDCP status and how long this model has been on the market, no reply yet, have scoured the Web, no useful info. apart from price comparison sites.

Got the following response from LG regarding PC connectivity on the RZ37LZ30 (replied in 1 day, not bad):

Completely forgot to ask about response time & HDCP compatibility...

Aren't LG in cahoots with Philips ? It might be the same panel as a 9986. Am I right in saying that Philips and LG develop together ?

this set has recently been discontinued by LG. Hence the price. Still a good buy.

Stupid question, but have you considered the 42PX11 plasma? Only a little bigger, gets good reviews, and has DVI.

    hope this helps

Sorry Plasma is a big No No with me, need a screen for use with a HTPC (Don't want an XP logo permanently burned on my screen!)

Interesting about the Philips/LG partnership, checked the 9986 panel specs, which are 800:1 Contrast and 450Cdm2 Brightness, as opposed to the LG's 500:1/500Cdm2 so probably not the same panel I would guess. £1850 delivered, getting very tempted, just need a review, doubt there are any retail outlets with this model as the largest LCD I've seen working is a 32" @ Currys.

No reply yet Brakepad about response time, well done finding the French site, I tried for days. anyway if true, this LG has a good response time, DVI & DSUB, looks OK to me aesthetically, just need an independant report on Picture Quality, if I can get that, I'll go for it.

    BTW

In this thread another member reakons this panel is discontinued, anyone heard the same?

Finally received reply from LG, the model is current and the DVI is NOT! HDCP compliant, no mention of panel response time, so maybe I'll wait for new model 37" panels, if any ever get released, hopefully with all the goodies, HDMI x 2, DVI, Fast response time, Digital Tuner, or am I just dreaming!
