lg plasma sky sports image retention

Hi boys I'm having problems with my lg 50 inch plasma we have calibrated it using the picture perfect videos on here.
if we have sky sports on for an hour the score board will stay on the screen for a few days and the sky sports live logo.
The plasma is in cinema mode and brightness kept down.
It's not a top of the range plasma

Also you can only see it when the screen is on a white or blue image.
Have phoned lg and they have suggested I use the orbiter setting and colour wash still hasn't removed it.
I don't have a white screen setting on the plasma.
can any one suggest how we can prevent this?
The tv is a two months old and is on for 5 hours a day so run in I think.
Any help appreciated

I noticed this problem on this tv when I visited Currys recently. It put me off the tv to be honest, as no other tv had the problem in the store and they are all fed the same signal throughout he day.

I ended up going Panasonic again, and although its 'only hd ready', I am finding the TV very good indeed.

You may wanna have a chat with your retailer and see if they will replace/exchange it?

Depending where you got it from...maybe.
Some retailers may be willing to exchange it, some might insist it goes for repair.
If they choose the later option let the retail do it. If it still has the same amount of easy to get image retention that takes days to remove you could argue to the retailer it falls under the sales of goods act as unfit for purpose, as it can't be used without getting bad image retention from using it to watch tv shows. This then distracts from the viewing pleasure.

spoke to lg guy and he advised I contact them as well.

In my experience with LG plasma screens is they do get IR much more easily than other brands, but I've not yet seen one retain IR for days after a football match or 2hr gaming session.
It could just be its a dodgy panel, or this model is a IR junkie.

It's been calibrated using picture perfect on here.
Wish I got a Panasonic now and it was cheap!
It's a good little tv though for what we require.
Hopefully I can get a refund and get the pan will let you boys know!
